Background

Jerry Weinstein is emeritus professor of Accountancy. He began teaching at JCU in 1979 and retired in 2020. A CPA for over 50 years, he continues to manage a static practice serving individuals, small businesses and nonprofits. A lifelong believer in community and professional service, he has served on several boards of nonprofit organizations. A past chair of the Accountancy Board of Ohio, he presently serves on the board of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) and is also on the American Institute of CPAs' Board of Examiners and one of its CPA exam content committees. He holds membership in the AICPA, Ohio Society of CPAs and the American Accounting Association.
A lifelong baseball fan, he is grateful to still be physically able to workout and play softball in the summer. With two married adult children, he and his wife are thankful everyday for the life they are able to enjoy.

BSBA and MACC from Bowling Green State University and Ph.D. from Kent State University.

Courses Taught

Retired from full-time teaching, he continues to engage with students by working with them in the IRS’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program during the busy season.
