Gregory Steinberg

Background

Prior to joining the Boler College of Business, Mr. Steinberg had a successful career serving in numerous executive positions. Mr. Steinberg was the Chief Financial Officer of American Greetings where he was responsible for all financial activities, including accounting, audit, financial planning and reporting, investments, investor relations, real estate, retailer contract management, retailer financial services, risk management, shared services, tax, treasury, and corporate strategy. He was instrumental in structuring a management buyout of American Greetings taking the company from being publicly traded on the NYSE to a privately owned business. Later, he led the sale of American Greetings to another firm.

Mr. Steinberg is also a consultant, executive advisor, mentor, and sought-after speaker. He has covered business strategy, leadership, mergers and acquisitions, and capital allocation. In addition to industry specific speaking engagements, he has presented at events hosted by Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, and Key Bank.

Outside of work, Mr. Steinberg is incredibly involved in volunteer work and giving back to his community. He has served Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries, a nonprofit social enterprise helping homeless, incarcerated, vulnerable and at-risk youth and adults, on their finance and audit committees for over 15 years. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Lutheran High School Association as Chairman. Mr. Steinberg is an active member of the Christian Business Men’s Connection (CBMC) helping connect business professionals to God and other Christian men through fellowship. He was also an advisory board member for FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurance firms.
