Jim Kohan
Sr. Project Manager
Background
While I officially joined the John Carroll team in February 2016, I have been on campus since August 2015, when I began working on the University's implementation of Hyland Software's OnBase ECM solution. As roles shifted and people departed, I've assumed additional duties on the ITS Enterprise Apps team, including managing our data integrations with the Adirondack Housing solution, the Maxient Student Conduct solution, and other third-party applications. As our use of Edify as a Data Warehouse / Reporting solution expands, I'm participating in those implementations.
Since 2022-23 I've been part of the myJCU team, helping to build out the initial implementation, and more recently leading the migration of all Administrative Workflow solutions from OnBase over to Slate/myJCU ("Administrative" = those workflows not directly related to Student Academics).
When I'm not on campus, I'm at home just outside of Louisville, Ohio, with my wife Melissa and our two sons, Ben and Sam (a proud 2023 JCU graduate). In my freetime I enjoy working on historic cars, building models, and spending time on the computer.
Fun fact: From 1989 to 1992 I was employed at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air & Space Museum, serving in the Collections Management Division, and after I moved back to Ohio, I became active with the MAPS Air Museum in North Canton, Ohio, eventually holding the (voluntary) roles of Director and Chairman of the Board. Ohio's second largest aviation museum, we've restored and have on display over 20 historic aircraft, from pre-World War I up to the modern day.
