Background

Keith Nagy is a semi retired Assistant Professor/ Managing Director of Theatre from JCU since 2017. He was fulltime at JCU from 1996-2017. He was also an adjunct Professor at Notre Dame College from 2017-2023. He also still teaches part-time at JCU. He was also the Director of the Beachwood/ Shaker Hights Summer Youth Theatre Summer from 2020-2025. I was an Assistant Professor/Producing Director of Theatre at John Carroll for 21+ years, where I directed, designed, and produced some 75+ shows. I am also active in the Cleveland theatre scene where I have designed and directed for theatres such as Cleveland Public Theatre, Dobama Theatre, Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Lakeland Theatre, Verb Ballets and a few other local theaters. Prior to JCU, I was Director of Production/ Resident Designer at Cleveland Opera for 19 years where I got to travel the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico designing Lights and sets for Operas, Light Operas and Musical Theatre shows for over 2 dozen regional companies. Mr. Nagy also has served as regional chair for U.S.I.T.T. (United States Institute of Theatre Technologists) and has served as Ohio Valley Regional Chair for 8 years. He lives in Beachwood, Ohio with 2 daughters (twins at Beachwood High School), dog and Husband.. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Cal Poly Pomona, a Master of Production/Fine arts Degree from Ohio University, and am a retired member of United Scenic Artists local #829.
