Lori Cohen

Lecturer

Background

I am born and raised here in Northeast Ohio. I grew up in Beachwood and graduated from Beachwood High School. After graduating from Beachwood I went to Indiana University where I earned my Bachelors degree in Biology. I then decided I wanted to be a high school biology teacher and earned my Masters degree from Kent State in teaching. I was hired to teach chemistry at Mentor High School and have been teaching there ever since. I moved into teaching biology shortly after being hired.

I am married to my husband Al and we now live in Solon with our twin daughters.

Areas of Expertise

I have been teaching high school science at Mentor High School for over 30 years. I have taught college prep chemistry and biology. Currently I am teaching Honors Biology to 9th and 10th graders. I am also teaching a course I created called Independent Science Research where students conduct high level science research and compete at our local and regional science fairs.
