How to submit an IRB application
Complete required CITI Training
All researchers must complete the required training through the CITI Program before submitting an application. See Carole Krus to learn which CITI course is required for your research.
Download the current IRB Application Form from myJCU
Always use the current version of the form, available in myJCU → Research Compliance → IRB Forms and Templates. The form is updated annually — do not use versions found elsewhere online.
Student researchers: get faculty approval first
Your research advisor must read, approve, and submit your completed application. Students should not submit applications directly to the IRB.
Submit via email as a Word document
Email your completed form as a Word (.docx) document to IRB@jcu.edu. Do not convert to PDF or use Apple Pages — forms must remain editable.
CITI Training
JCU researchers access required training courses through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative at no cost. Complete before submitting any IRB application.
