Background
Carole Moran Krus, M.S., CIP, has served as the Research Compliance Administrator in the Office of Sponsored Programs at John Carroll University since 2015. In this role, she has served as the administrator for the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), ensuring JCU complies with all applicable human and animal subject research regulations. Ms. Krus is also a voting member of the JCU IRB. She is an active member of Public Responsibility in Research and Medicine (PRIM&R), where she has contributed to several workshops and roundtable discussions on Social, Behavioral, and Educational Research (SBER) and the management of compliance programs in small institutions.
Ms. Krus earned a master’s degree in polymer chemistry and engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and American studies from Cornell University. She built her first career in polymeric materials research and engineering in industrial labs before leaving the science field to raise a family. While enjoying her "career renaissance" at JCU, she contributes to the university as a member of the Title IX team, an advisor to the Chi Omega sorority, and a chorister for school liturgies.
