John Carroll University will host the 2026 JCU Health Professions Summit: Building Healthier Communities through Public Health on Saturday, April 11, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the atrium of the Dolan Center for Science and Technology.
The event will bring together healthcare professionals, alumni, students, community partners, staff, and faculty for an afternoon of networking and conversation focused on the role of public health and its impact on strengthening health at the regional and national levels. The event is designed to create space for professionals across the healthcare field to share insights, explore emerging public health challenges, build relationships with others working to advance healthier communities, and inspire the next generation of healthcare leaders.

The summit will begin with a panel discussion moderated by Erin E. Johnson, MPH, Ph.D., professor of Biology and Director of the Public Health program at John Carroll. Panelists include:
- Mark Adams, REHS, MPH, Health Commissioner for Lorain County Public Health
- Megan Boyk, MD, MPA ’15, Family Medicine Physician, MyMichigan Health
- Mark Kadzielski ’68, Fellow and past Board Member of the American Health Law Association
- Kate Tullio, MPH, MS ’09, Associate Vice President of Health and Social Partnerships for CareSource
The panel will be followed by a keynote presentation from Celina Cunanan, MSN, APRN-CNM, Chief Health Impact Officer at University Hospitals.
The event will conclude with a networking and awards reception for alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
