John Carroll University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program recently earned full approval from the Ohio Board of Nursing, marking another significant milestone in the success of the program.
At its July 22 meeting, the Ohio Board of Nursing granted John Carroll full approval for a period of five years, affirming the quality and rigor of the University’s nursing education. The Ohio Board of Nursing regulates nursing education programs throughout the state that prepare students for initial licensure as registered nurses or licensed practical nurses.
John Carroll’s approval follows an exciting year for the BSN program, which recently celebrated the graduation of its inaugural nursing class. Earlier this summer, JCU announced that every graduate from the first cohort secured employment in nursing, reflecting the strong preparation students receive and the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals.
“This full approval affirms the strength of John Carroll’s nursing program and our commitment to preparing skilled, compassionate nurse leaders,” said Melissa Cole, Dean of the College of Health. “It is an important milestone for JCU and reflects the dedication of our staff, faculty, students, and healthcare partners to building a program that will help meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve.”
The Ohio Board of Nursing's decision represents an important benchmark in the continued growth of John Carroll's nursing program. Full approval provides assurance to prospective students, healthcare partners, and employers that the program meets Ohio's established standards for nursing education and is well-positioned to continue preparing graduates for successful careers in patient care.
