I’m new to SAS
Whether you’re a current student, an admitted or incoming student, or planning ahead as a family member, start with the SAS application in myJCU. Students aren’t registered with SAS until they’ve applied, submitted documentation, and met with an SAS staff member.

Use the AIM portal in myJCU each semester to request accommodations and send Letters of Accommodation to your instructors. Request early — testing, housing, and other non-academic accommodations need advance notice.
Open the AIM PortalHousing accommodations are reviewed by the Housing Accommodation Committee and require documentation of a diagnosed impairment that substantially limits a major life activity related to housing.
Incoming first-year students: the priority deadline for Fall 2026–Spring 2027 was Friday, May 15, 2026. Complete the online application in myJCU, and have your licensed treatment provider (doctor, psychologist, therapist, etc.) complete the documentation packet.
Current and returning students, renewing the same accommodation: complete only the online application in myJCU — no new documentation packet is required. Any housing accommodation already approved for the 2025–2026 school year remains approved for Spring 2026 upon returning to campus.
New or changed requests from current and returning students require the online application and a documentation packet completed by the student’s licensed treatment provider.
Most dietary needs are met through standard meal plan options. Students whose needs can’t be met through standard options may request a meal plan accommodation.
First-time requests require the online application and a documentation packet completed by the student’s licensed treatment provider. Apply in myJCU. Students may be asked to meet with Dining Services to discuss available options.
Parking accommodations require an online application and a documentation packet completed by the student’s licensed treatment provider. The priority deadline for Fall 2026–Spring 2027 requests is Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Apply and upload documentation in myJCU.
JCU provides reasonable accommodations for residents with a verifiable need. An ESA request requires the Reasonable Accommodation Verification Form, completed by a qualified health professional who has evaluated the student.
To get started, apply in myJCU or contact sas@jcu.edu.
If your accommodation involves specialized software or equipment, you’ll test in the SAS Testing Center. All other testing accommodations, including extended time or a reduced-distraction environment, are scheduled at the Satellite Testing Center.
Email the Test Proctor at testproctor@jcu.edu at least three business days in advance. Complete the Exam Administration Form in myJCU for your instructor one week before the test.
SAS supports students with disabilities so they have an equal opportunity to compete and succeed. Disabilities may be medical or physical, sensory, psychological, or learning related. Documentation and verification of a disability are required, and an intake appointment with an SAS staff member is necessary before accommodations are granted.
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act states that no otherwise qualified individual with a disability shall, solely by reason of their disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.
Definition of a disability: a person has a disability if they have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, have a record of such an impairment, or are regarded as having such an impairment.
Qualified students with disabilities have the right to an equal opportunity to participate in JCU programs, the right to an evaluation based on ability rather than disability, and the right to appeal accommodation decisions.
Students who exercise these rights are responsible for:
