Semester-Long Programs
4 to 5 months · Sophomore or Junior year
Spend a full semester living in another country, taking classes at a partner university, and building a life somewhere completely new. You're not visiting. You're enrolled, making friends, and exploring a new culture.
Students can study abroad for a full semester Sophomore or Junior year. You come back with transfer credits and a completely different perspective.
Faculty-Led Programs
1 to 2 weeks · Spring break or May
Travel with your professor and classmates for one or two weeks over Spring Break or in May. These programs are tied to a John Carroll course, so you're earning credit while you explore. The structure is built in, the group is small, and you're learning in the place you're studying about.
Programs span disciplines from Business and Ecology to Political Science and Languages, and destinations change each year.
Summer Programs
4 to 8 weeks
Spend part of your summer abroad through JCU's partner programs across Europe, Latin America, Asia, and more. More time than a faculty-led trip, less than a full semester. You get real immersion without rearranging your academic year.
A good fit if your schedule is tight, if you want to test the waters before committing to a semester, or if you just want to make your summer count.
