Cultural Experiences
Immerse yourself in Italian culture. Spend a semester abroad in Italy with the JCU in Rome program, where you’ll live and study in the heart of the city. After class, explore the sites, enjoy the cafes, and take in the art and architecture.

Italians and the Italian language have made a distinctive contribution to art, architecture, cuisine, music, science, literature, and film, and theater. As an Italian Studies major at John Carroll, you’ll explore these areas and more — while also developing proficiency in a language spoken by more than three million people around the world. (Italian is the official language of not only Italy, but also Vatican City, San Marino, Switzerland, and parts of Croatia and Slovenia.)
Italian Studies majors will learn to:

- Interpret features of the culture of the Italian-speaking world (such as art, literature, film, and customs) in the context of its history, politics, religion, or geography
