Description: Canvas, JCU's learning management system, offers a number of tools to help faculty assess student learning at the course and program level. This session, led by Todd Bruce, Director of Academic Assessment, and Jay Tarby, Center for Digital Media, will explain how to set up Outcomes and build Rubrics in Canvas in order to capture assessment data. We also explore how to use the data we've collected: through Canvas features like the Learning Mastery Gradebook and Student Outcome Reports and through external tools using data from Outcome Reports. We will look at concrete examples from particular courses, programs, and categories of the new integrative core curriculum.
