Welcome Home, Blue Streaks!

As a residential campus rooted in Jesuit values, we believe where you live shapes how you learn, connect, and grow. This page walks you through the first year housing options and introduces you to your future home away from home.

4-Year Residential Requirement

At John Carroll, living where you learn is an essential part of your education. All undergraduate students live in University-sponsored housing for four years — a commitment designed to help you build lifelong friendships, strengthen your sense of belonging, and fully experience campus life.

Housing for underclass students includes our residence halls, while upper-level students can choose to stay in a residence hall or live in JCU-owned apartments, houses, or duplexes.

Students who live with their parents or guardians within 35 miles of campus are the only exception and are designated as commuters.

JCU offers three primary residence halls for first-year students, each with its own unique character and location.
