Transfer students are required to attend one of these Transfer Registration days on campus, where they will meet with a faculty member to put together a course schedule for the following semester:

2023 Transfer Registration Dates

  • January 13 (register by January 6) 
  • August 24 (register by August 17)

All students who attend a Transfer Registration Day will be invited to the Transfer Welcome Reception during the second week of classes. More details will be be available about this event as the date draws near.


Access to your next steps for enrollment, including the link to register for Transfer Registration, will be available within your JCU Gateway account upon submitting your enrollment deposit. 

Once your registration has been received, we will send a confirmation email to the email address linked to your JCU Gateway account.

Each student will be charged a $100 fee for participating in Transfer Registration, which covers advising and registration fees, the Transfer Welcome Reception, and other program costs  This fee will be added to your John Carroll student account.


For the Transfer Registration Day, the day will begin at 10:30 a.m. The program concludes when you have finished registering for classes. Each faculty advisor's registration and appointment times will vary, so you should plan to be engaged with the Orientation program until 4:00pm. Click here to see the schedule for the day. 


When you enter the main gate of JCU off of Fairmount Circle, you will turn right and find Orientation parking signs that will direct you to park in a large parking lot in front of the Administration Building (with the bell tower). A staff member from the Office of Student Engagement will be outside to direct guests to the O'Malley Center for check in. 

Residence Hall Key Pick-up

Transfer students who will be living on campus will be able to pick up their keys to their residence hall room from 2:00 - 4:30pm in the Office of Residence Life, room 01 on the ground level of the Student Center. Students can then move their belongings after they finish scheduling their classes at Transfer Registration Day.

Submitting your Carroll Card ID picture:

All incoming students are required to submit a headshot online for their Carroll Card. In the picture, students must be facing forward, cannot be wearing a cap or hat, and need to use a neutral background. Your picture can be submitted here

Students who have sucessfully submitted their picture online by January 9 will be able to pick up their Carroll Card on the afternoon of Transfer Registration Day between 2:00 - 4:30pm in the Carroll Card Office, room 06 on the ground level of St. Ignatius Hall.
