John Carroll University and Case Western Reserve University collaborated with Hillel International to host the second annual retreat for members of the Campus Climate Initiative (CCI).

The CCI cohort experience allows university administrators to explore topics like combatting campus antisemitism, Jewish students' needs, and the diversity of the Jewish experience. Through engaging workshops, plenaries, and discussions, participants learned how to work collectively to create action plans within their peer community, fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment for all students.

The retreat featured representatives from 32 schools, offering a chance to connect, learn, and deepen their understanding of the Jewish student experience in the current climate of higher education. John Carroll University President Alan Miciak and Case Western Reserve University President Eric Kaler led the opening remarks, setting the tone for meaningful discussions. Mark Rotenberg, Vice President of University Initiatives and General Counsel of Hillel noted that the opening event marked the first time that Hillel leadership shared the stage with a Jesuit institution. John Carroll University is proud to be the first Jesuit institution to join the CCI.
