It was an eventful weekend for the Blue Streaks, in both University Heights and Marietta, Ohio. 

 

This past weekend John Carroll’s athletics fought strong and hard on all fronts with three victories and one tying game. As the fall athletics near to the end of the season they remain determined and optimistic to end their seasons on a high note; and this past weekend clearly showed that. 

 

Football 

The football team played a phenomenal game against Marietta this past Saturday, wing a thrilling 19-10 battle. Highlights in the performance included a pick-six by Tyshawn Jones and a kick return touchdown by Devin Limerick. The Blue Streaks fought a hard in a tight game and proudly came out on top. 

 

Men’s Soccer 

The Blue Streaks traveled to Marietta for a OAC Title rematch, which was a close game ending in a 0-0 tie. Both teams were very even in shots, but in the end Connor Robinson made 3 saves in the 110 minutes of play. The Streaks stay undefeated in the Ohio Athletic Conference play, and their next OAC game is against Heidelberg on Wednesday.

 

Women’s Soccer 

The women's soccer team's hard work and determination paid off in the victory over Marietta this past Saturday. With goals scored by Brittany Dufalla, Grace Monnin, and Gabriella Walter, the Blue Streaks ultimately outshot the Pioneers 11-6 and played a great game, culminating in a 3-1 win. Their next game is their final home game against Heidelberg on Wednesday. 

 

Volleyball

JCU Volleyball's veterans celebrated their senior game with a win over Marietta on Saturday. In the first set, the Blue Streaks came out on top with a 25-18 victory, followed by the second set victory of 25-18, and finally a 25-15 victory over the Pioneers in the third set. The Streaks will take on Heidelberg this Wednesday.
