Doan’s passion is giving students a voice, and motivating younger generations to tackle their dreams through creating their own careers. Before joining the John Carroll family, he was an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Associate Director of the Means Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Illinois State University.
Courses
Doan teaches entrepreneurship courses in the Entrepreneurship minor for undergraduates, and in the MBA program. His teaching interests include creativity, innovation, lean startup and new venture creation. His passion is to bring an experiential approach to his students.
Research
Doan’s research agenda focuses on entrepreneurship education. He also works on topics involving the work-life balance of entrepreneurs and business owners. His work has been published in outlets such as Journal of Small Business Management, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research, New England Journal of Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Personnel Psychology.
