Background

Dr. Mihai is an Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance in Boler School of Business at John Carroll University. Prior to joining the faculty at John Carroll, Dr. Mihai held positions as an Assistant Professor at Widener University, Lecturer at CUNY Baruch College and Yeshiva University, and Quantitative Research Fellow at CUNY Baruch College, among others. In industry, Dr. Mihai had roles as an investment banking analyst and quantitative modeler for various financial institutions in the United States. Dr. Mihai obtained a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics with a concentration in Finance from City University of New York (CUNY)-Graduate Center and Baruch College, and a B.S. in Finance from The University of New Orleans.

Courses

Dr. Mihai’s teaching interests include macroeconomics, investments, financial economics, financial econometrics, international economics, and international finance.

Research

Dr. Mihai’s research covers a variety of topics in empirical asset pricing, macro-finance, applied macro, international economics, international finance, and banking. His work has been published in the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Forecasting and Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance.
