Biography 

My teaching career started in a 2nd grade classroom where I spent 6 years before transitioning to higher education. I am a now mid-career academic with 20+ peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters and have experience teaching both graduates and undergraduates. I have served as an Early Childhood Program Coordinator and a Graduate Program Coordinator. Additionally, I have secured over $250,000 in grants focusing on expanding opportunities for students at JCU and raising awareness of representation of d/Deaf/HOH populations in children's literature.
