What is the most memorable college course you took and why?

My most memorable college course was Introduction to Psychology. The course was taught by a graduate student who made the class relatable and exciting. I'll never forget how passionate my professor was about the course and I remember thinking that I wanted to be like him one day! This course introduced me to the career possibilities in the helping profession and had a major impact on my career goals.

What made you decide to go into your field?

My Introduction to Psychology course. In addition, my mom who has taught in Warren City my entire life. She instilled in me my desire to help others and my passion for education.

What attracted you to John Carroll University?

John Carroll has an amazing reputation in Northeast, Ohio and being from the area, I've always thought very highly of the University. I did a one-year doctoral internship at JCU in 2016. It was then, I decided that I loved the University and the Counseling Department. I knew that I would eventually want to work here fulltime if the opportunity presented itself.

What are some of your favorite pastimes, interests, or passions outside of work?

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and traveling if time permits. I have a three-year-old son and twin daughters who were born in July.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

I am most looking forward to getting acquainted to the University as a fulltime faculty member. I'm one week in and already enjoy the classes I am teaching and the students I am working with.
