Biography

Director of Ignatian Formation, JCU

Year of Entrance into the Society of Jesus: 1981

Hometown: Grand Rapids, MI

Favorite scripture passage: Philippians 2:1-11 – “Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus…”

Why did you join the Jesuits?

I met the Jesuits when I was a Jesuit volunteer in Newark, NJ, from 1979-1981.  In Newark, I taught at an alternative junior high school.  Both the Jesuits and the Sisters of St. Dominic, who sponsored the school, presented me with a vibrant vision of religious life.  And so I entered the Jesuits in September 1981.
