Jamie Greenwolf

Jamie Greenwolf M.Ed. - Assistant Director of Student Wellbeing

Jamie is the Assistant Director for Student Wellbeing. He received his Master in Education from James Madison University in College Student Personnel Administration and received a Bachelor’s in Communication from Eastern Michigan University.  He started working at John Carroll in the Spring of 2018 and is the main supervisors to the Peer Health Advocates.  He is passionate about healthy relationships, decreasing the stigma around mental health, and social justice.  In his free time he likes to spend time with his kid, Oliver, and spouse, Amber, as well as gardening, woodworking, and spending time outside.

Cherelle Simmons

Cherelle Simmons - Graduate Assistant

Cherelle is the Graduate Assistant for the Wellness Center, majoring in School Counseling. Cherelle has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron in Psychology. Her passion for children and mental health impacted her decision to continue her education. Her career focus is promoting equality and unbiased opportunities to children of diverse backgrounds in the school system. In her free time she enjoys family and friends, hosting game nights, nail salon trips, traveling and roller skating.

Lindsay Carr

Lindsay Carr - Graduate Assistant

Lindsay is one of the graduate assistants for the Wellness Center, receiving her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2022 with a bachelors in psychology. Lindsay is very passionate about an array of topics regarding mental health, but she is specifically interested in depression, anxiety, body image, self esteem and disordered eating. Her future career aspirations include focusing on adolescent populations within the foster care system or individuals on the Autism Spectrum.  In her free time she enjoys watching football, staying up to date on fashion trends, trying new recipes, and traveling whenever she gets the chance.

Meghan Maselko

Name and Pronouns: Meghan Maselko, She/Her/Hers
Major: Psychology (Clinical-Counseling Concentration) and Peace, Justice, and Human Rights
Year in School:  4th Year
Topics of Special Interest: I am passionate about consent, setting healthy boundaries, and the importance of self-care!
Why did you want to be a PHA? I am passionate about helping others in any way I can, and I want to be able to help the JCU community become a more healthy environment! I think it is very important for our campus to be having open conversations about the issues that affect many of us, reinforcing the idea that we are truly not alone.

 

Elina

Why did you want to be a PHA? I enjoy helping others and making people feel like they have support regardless of where they are. I wanted to be a PHA to become a resource for my peers as they navigate issues or concerns that we all go through as college students.

Why did you want to be a PHA? I am dedicated to helping others in any way that I am able to. I would like to use my knowledge about all the aspects of wellness and create an educated, healthy, and safe community at John Carroll University.

 

Jenna Kelley

Major: Sociology and Criminology & Peace, Justice, and Human Right
Year in School:  3rd Year
Topics of Special Interest: Self love/self care, time management, finding healthy coping mechanisms, and I also find that the community you surround yourself with is important, making healthy relationships hold a huge impact on your overall well-being.
Why did you want to be a PHA? As someone who has struggled with my own mental health I want everyone to get to experience a happy life with effective coping mechanisms in whatever way is possible for them. I will do anything I can to be involved in the process of making the John Carroll community a safe place for everyone, but most especially those who are struggling.

 

Aaron Fernando

Why did you want to be a PHA?  I think my struggles with my mental health are a big motivator to become a Peer Health Advocate. I’ve had a lot of problems and struggles with my mental health and I’m still currently working on it too. I think the progress I’ve made here at John Carroll while struggling with these problems are important to share with other students who are also struggling too. I know what it’s like to feel hopeless and/or helpless. I want to voice out to others that it’s okay to feel this way and that there are ways for things to get better.

 

Sadhana Seetalall

Major: Political Science and Communications with a minor in PJHR
Year in School:  1st Year
Topics of Special Interest:  I am passionate about mental health but I am looking forward to venturing into other areas as well!
Why did you want to be a PHA?  I aspired to become a PHA because as a fast growing society, we are just starting to learn about the importance of prioritizing mental health. Taking some time to reflect on personal and community experiences as well has made me even more passionate about advocating the importance of mental health, especially in POC communities. I am honored to be part of a program that will allow me to raise further awareness for self care.

Why did you want to be a PHA?  I have seen the first hand impact of misinformation pertaining to health-related topics (mental, physical, etc…). I want to use my experiences to help, relate, and empower others. To increase discussion—on even the most stigmatized topics—is to increase awareness.

Why did you want to be a PHA? I believe in the idea that everyone can lead a healthy lifestyle, even if it may seem difficult given different circumstances. I want to be someone that people can trust and communicate with whenever they need help or just want to talk. I saw that being a PHA was a perfect outlet to do just that, to help those around me especially in a college setting.

 

Nicole Susie

Why did you want to be a PHA? I wanted to be a PHA because I think mental health is extremely important, especially in college. Why did you want to be a PHA? To help end the stigma surrounding mental health. I am very passionate about helping others and I think achieving a positive mental space is one of the most important things in life. Your mental health affects all other aspects of your life, so I think it's important to hold a good mental space.

Why did you want to be a PHA?  I wanted to become a PHA to help my peers and community continue to develop a healthy lifestyle. College is one of the best times to create healthy habits and I want to help the JCU community create an open discussion and conversation around these.

Topics of Special Interest: I am most passionate about exercise and nutrition. I also want to help those who struggle with anxiety like I do.
Why did you want to be a PHA? I have a passion for physical and mental well-being. When I was struggling at some points in my life, I had people help me through tough times. They changed my life, and now I want to be the person to help others, and spread knowledge on health and wellness.
