Philosophy Minor

A philosophy minor complements other areas of study that raise questions about values or methodology, including law, business, education, and the sciences. Students can fulfill a minor with six philosophy courses (just three courses beyond the core curriculum requirements).


As a philosophy minor, you’ll take six philosophy courses (three courses beyond the Core Curriculum requirements):

  • Introduction to Philosophy (PL 100)
  • Any 200-level philosophy course
  • Any 300-level philosophy course
  • Philosophy Seminar (PL 450)
  • Two additional philosophy courses
  • PL 300 - Methods in Philosophy is a requirement
