A number of graduates have worked for well-known nonprofit organizations such as: The Alzheimer’s Association, The American Cancer Society, The American Red Cross, The Peace Corps, and governmental agencies such as: The FBI, The Secret Service, various juvenile courts and probation agencies as well as multiple other law enforcement agencies.

Additionally, a number of graduating seniors each year elect to participate in a service year with organizations such as: AmeriCorps, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, The Peace Corps, and Teach America.

Sociology and Criminology students have gone on to do graduate work at top universities throughout the United States in the areas of business, criminology, counseling, education, law, public administration, public health, public policy, social work, as well as sociology and anthropology.

Graduate schools which Sociology and Criminology students have attended include: Boston College, Boston University, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University, Columbia University, John Carroll University, Johns Hopkins University, Kent State University, Loyola University Chicago, New York University, The Ohio State University, University of Chicago, University of Cincinnati, University of Florida, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, and The New School.

We also are a participating department in the Master of Arts (M.A.) Program in Nonprofit Administration at JCU.
