The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Data Science offers several scholarships to qualified students intending to major in mathematics, computer science, or teaching mathematics.

Incoming Students

Robert J. Kolesar Scholarship in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Data Science

The department awards scholarships to three incoming students intending to major in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Data Science. The amount of each scholarship is $2,000.  Applicants must have already applied and been accepted for admission to John Carroll University to be considered. Scholarship award decisions are made in late February. An application for admission to John Carroll is available from the Office of Admission and Financial Aid.

Continuing Students

Brother Raymond F. Schnepp Math Scholarships

Current students who are majoring or intend to major in mathematics at John Carroll are eligible to apply for a Schnepp Scholarship. The typical award ranges from $500 to $1000.  Awards are made in the spring of each year to apply to the student’s financial aid package for the following academic year.  Awards are for one year only, but recipients in one year may apply again in subsequent years. Applications are due by April 19, 2022

Brother Schnepp 2022 Scholarship

 

Frank and Frances Guinta Scholarships

Current mathematics, computer science, or data science majors at John Carroll who demonstrates both outstanding academic performance and financial need are eligible to apply for a Guinta Scholarship. Awards up to $10,000 are made in the spring of each year and apply to the student’s financial aid package for the following academic year. Awards are for one year only, but recipients in one year may apply again in subsequent years.  Applications are due by April 19, 2022
