Student Liaisons are paid student work-study leaders who contribute significantly to the culture of service at JCU. These student leaders serve as ambassadors that connect the University to the community, facilitate a positive service experience for their fellow students, lead reflection, and transport students to and from community partner locations. They serve as peer mentors and are part of a dynamic group of campus leaders.  Apply Now >

As a CSSA representative, Student Office Workers welcome visitors, students, and faculty/staff to the office and review the reflection writings of their fellow students while at the front desk.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Welcoming visitors to the office and answering phones
  • Maintenance of the CSSA front office area
  • Distribution and collection of van keys and drive folders
  • Providing pertinent information to CSSA staff members
  • Attending mandatory training sessions

Job Requirements: Must embrace the JCU mission of being a “man or woman for others.” Must be reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.

Pay rate: $11.00 per hour. Students eligible for Federal Work Study are preferred.

The van manager is a work-study position that assists the Center for Service and Social Action with keeping the fleet of mini-vans fueled, cleaned, and checked for weekly service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Fueling the vans twice a week according to a set schedule
  • Reporting on and replacing mileage logs
  • Cleaning the vans regularly
  • Performing maintenance checks on the vans
  • Completing other seasonal tasks as needed.
